The house of the wicked will be destroyed,
but the tent of the upright will flourish.
Proverbs 14:11 (ESV)
I have spent the entirety of my life trying to be a “good” person. I obeyed my parents; I did well in school and hardly ever got into trouble. I try to always be kind and generous with my time and resources. Now I am in no way calling myself a saint, believe me, I’ve made my share of mistakes and foolish decisions. What I am saying is, I have been told on many occasions that I’m a little “green” or a “good” girl because I always try to do what is right. So, imagine what runs through my mind when I see people who admittedly live life by their own rules, living life regardless of what is right and wrong. Yes, I have questioned whether trying to do the right thing and waiting for it to be my time is worth it, especially when I see people doing whatever they desire and living a life that “looks” golden.
It’s not easy doing the right thing, especially when it seems like you’re always being told “no” or “wait.” It’s also not easy when doing the right thing means you have to often make that stand alone. However, God is not blind to anything. He sees and knows all. He sees the actions and decisions of every single one of us, and He will respond accordingly. His timing is always perfect even though we don’t always understand it or agree with it.
When God tells us “no” or even “wait” it is because He sees what we cannot see, or He is preparing us for what we’re praying for but aren’t yet ready to receive. Sometimes we go ahead and do or attain things outside of God’s will and it seems like we have all that we’ve ever wanted but it wasn’t blessed by God, therefore it will not last.
Keep resisting temptation and doing what is right even when it seems like we’ve only received “tent” level blessings from our obedience. Remember God is preparing us for the blessing that is to come so that we will be ready to receive it, appreciate it, and maintain it.
Prayer:
Lord help us to trust You and Your timing. Help us to wait on You with expectancy without becoming anxious. Help us to not become envious of the wicked and remember that You know what is best for us. And Lord, please help us to not waver in our faith.

Thank you Erica for reminding me to keep doing what is right because God is preparing a Blessing for me .
Thanks Erica, a great message. I understand where you’re coming from.
It is hard to watch evil triumph, but I know the seeming victory is ill-gotten and short lived. Victory belongs to Jesus. Amen
It is a struggle to wait on your blessings. Thank you Erica, great message.
This was a good word. Thanks for the encouragement.
I can relate. Thank you for an awesome word.
Amen for this message. I want to do good when nobody is watching. I know GOD will bless those who follow HIM wholeheartedly.
