Don’t assume that you know it all.
Run to God! Run from evil!
Your body will glow with health,
your very bones will vibrate with life!
Proverbs 3:7-8 MSG
Bad judgment hurts.
I don’t even have to share a personal story to drive home the point.
Whether you’re 2, 122, or somewhere in between, you personally have at least one story that has taught you the cost of bad decisions.
And you can remember that story as if it happened yesterday (it even may have!).
That universal reality is a testament to just how easy it is to make a wrong call.
Why is that?
When God made us, because He is Love, He gave us free will when He created us, so that love could be fully expressed in our freely choosing to love and seek Him for our lives.
A downside to that gift of free will, however, is that we are also free to not choose to seek and love an infinite and all-knowing God. Instead, we can decide with our limited knowledge that we got a handle on our own lives and do what we think is best for us.
And as Dr. Phil would say, how’s that working for ya?
How we have handled life with our limited knowledge has cost us friends, family, relationships, money, opportunities, and even our very health – this current pandemic has been a very real case for how bad judgment can mean our literal demise.
But it simply doesn’t have to be this way. Life doesn’t have to be what it has always been for us.
The God who created and sustains our lives invites us to try a better way. Will you accept His invitation?

I accept!
