Stay away from the woman who commits adultery. Don’t even go near her house. If you do, others will get the honor you should have had. Some stranger will get everything you worked years to get. People you don’t know will take all your wealth. Others will get what you worked for. At the end of your life, you will be sad that you ruined your health and lost everything you had.
Now, about sex and marriage: Drink only the water that comes from your own well, and don’t let your water flow out into the streets. Keep it for yourself, and don’t share it with strangers. Be happy with your own wife. Enjoy the woman you married while you were young.
Proverbs 5:7-11;15-18 ERV
The year 2020 has taught us to practice social distancing from others to remain safe from COVID-19. While shopping at stores, we are reminded to keep our distance from other customers. There are usually markings on the floor to remind us to stay six feet apart.
Proverbs 5:7-18, serve as our markings to distance ourselves from sexual sin. Solomon encourages his sons to practice social distancing to understand and escape the danger of sin. Solomon warns his sons not to even go near a woman who has intentions of having relations with you. For example, if someone is approaching you at the gym, you can practice social distancing by changing your workout time or changing the location of the gym you use. If your co-worker is flirting and won’t stop pursuing you, you can ask to be transferred to another department or to another shift.
If you don’t distance yourself from adultery, you risk losing your biggest blessing from God, your wife. Once divorced, your wife may remarry, and not only will some other man have the gift that God intended for you, but that man may prosper from all of your hard work. Yes, half of all you have worked for will be another man’s to enjoy; not to mention the shame that you will face daily from your kids.
In vs 15-18 when Solomon tells his sons to drink from their own well, he’s encouraging them to only be sexually intimate with their wives. Sexual intimacy in your marriage is always pure. We should appreciate the spouse that God has given us.

Wonderful admonishment. Drink your own water, it’s sweeter.
Praise God Beautiful mom
