King Solomon records fireballs of wisdom from the Lord – now let’s see if you have the right arm to catch what he is throwing at you. He shares clear instructions on how to live a life pleasing to the Lord; and shares the consequences of what happens when you do not follow the Lord’s instructions. Ultimately, He is giving you a playbook on life’s best outcome; So, choose wisely. You can be wise, or you can be a fool in your decision-making. These are clear instructions for practical affairs for your everyday life. Fools make foolish decisions and will not have favor from the Lord; they will also suffer the consequences of their actions.
Listen, the more we understand the Lord and His Word, the wiser we are to follow His instructions. Be corrected by the Word of the Lord, and live a prosperous life. Yes, correction is ok. However, this also means you have to “DO THE WORK”, and you will be rewarded accordingly. Proverbs 13 highlights the importance of living wisely and following the Lord’s instructions as opposed to following the ways of the world and living ungodly. Who wants to pay for foolish decisions? I know I don’t! Life can already throw you curveballs without adding more sacrifices to the list.
I’m reminded of a mantra that I always tell my daughter. “Life gives you plenty of choices, but there is only ONE DECISION, so choose wisely in your decision making. And be mindful, because with every decision there is a consequence”. Life is full of surprises and sacrifices; however, it’s up to you to make the best decision based on the values and principles that you’ve learned from your parents/guardian(s) and most importantly what you’ve learned through God’s Word. Be corrected by God’s Word, rather than suffer the consequences of your bad decisions. Do not sacrifice your relationships with the Lord for foolish gain. So, now that you understand, it’s time to declutter your life and eliminate the foolishness; Take charge of your future TODAY, don’t wait.
If you walk with the wise then you gain wisdom. So, let’s start the decluttering process: let’s check your circle of friends. Who in your circle is not depositing in your life, but usually subtracting? Or who are you not depositing into? Wait a minute……, are you the foolish friend? If so, let’s change the narrative TODAY! Deposit the wisdom of the Lord daily in your circle of friends, and watch how your life changes.
Call to Action:
So, I’ve decided who I’m walking with, have you? Who are you walking with – will it be the wise amongst you or the fools of the world? Following God’s instructions in our daily lives will store up blessings for our future; I want my future to shine bright like a diamond and my life to be rare like pearls. I want my future grandchildren to be blessed because of my decisions. Today, our decisions, our actions, and our mouths will determine the trajectory of your life. So, I press upon you to be actively engaged in God’s Word every day. Whether it’s through prayer (well you should be praying every day regardless), reading your bible, listening to a sermon, a playlist, or a podcast, and sharing HIS WORD. Either way, BE INTENTIONAL about injecting the LORD in your daily life. After all, HE is the one who decided to breathe life in your lungs this morning, so show some respect. Yes, I said it, “PUT SOME RESPEK ON HIS NAME” and give HIM what HE is due; that’s your time, your treasure, your obedience, and your attention. Be the one who lives a Godly life in this ungodly world.
Well, that’s all for today! Go be great, and share the Word of God with someone. It’s your turn now, BATTER UP!!!! Now, Hit a home run for the LORD, and bring some souls back to home base.
