As a door turns on its hinges so does the lazy person on his bed
{never getting out of it}
Proverbs 26:14 (Amplified Bible)
This is a story about a foolish girl who fell head over heels in love with a young man who had an attractive personality, good looks, and was well built. However, there was one problem with her knight in shining armor: He was lazy.
According to the dictionary, a lazy person is not willing to work or be energetic.
This young girl was a sophomore in college. She was smart and intelligent. Her career was promising, and she was favored by her professors and peers.
However, the problem was with her Lazy Prince.
You see, he promised her a better life, but he had no…. job, education, money saved, nor a place to call home. To make matters worse, they did not seek wisdom or wise counsel. They were just going to live on love alone.
Wow!!!!! Imagine that – she foolishly dropped out of school with the intention of getting married and to live happily ever after, only to discover that her fairy tale story would come to a sudden end. She found herself in the crossroads of life with no prince, no promises, and too much pride to admit that she allowed a lazy young man to distract her from the path that was planned for her.
What a sad story.
But listen, when your plans are interrupted by foolishness do not throw in the towel, because help is on the way!
Remember the professors and peers who found favor with her while in college? Well, the good Lord used them to locate and remind her that her future was still bright. She received wise counsel and followed their instructions.
And because she did, her story ended differently.
She graduated from college with high honors, launched into a promising career, and married a godly and good-looking man. The two of them love God and they continually seek wisdom and follow wise counsel.
The man is not lazy, but has a Job!!!!! As a result, the two of them own a home, have money saved, and have god-fearing children.
You may have already figured it out, but that young girl was me.

Help us to remember that our path is not predicated by lazy people and false promises but “Yes” and “Amen” in Jesus Christ.
